Notes on the Classroom
Pick up and drop-off procedures: The procedure of driving around the school to let your child off is designed not only to give an opportunity for your child to take responsibility for their education from start to finish, but also to provide for the safety of your child. If even one or two parents come into the school to pick-up their children, we suddenly have 30 children jumping up and running to find their parents. This creates confusion and is disruptive to their learning environment.
Inside shoes: Please send a pair of inside shoes/slippers for your child to change into during class. They will save their outside shoes for recess and coming and going. This will help keep the dirt outside. They can store their inside shoes at school in their locker.
Easy Clothing: Pullovers with hoods and overall style pants are sometimes difficult for children to manage on and off by themselves. The children love to help themselves when going outside or to the bathroom.
Lunchtime:
We encourage healthy nutritious lunches. We provide a morning snack, so you don't have to. We have a contract for local milk delivery.
We don't have the ability to heat up the student's
lunches, so please send items that are delicious as they are. Also, please think about the ease of opening and eating. The children love to do things for themselves, if at all possible. And, watch the dark colored juices. They stain little shirts, pants and the carpet.
Absences: We'll notice if someone's missing, and worry! Please remember to call the office (652-1739) to let us know that your child will be absent or is sick.
